广阔的胸怀一直被公认为是君子的象征。

在某电视频道上，每天都会播一段调解员去乡间调解的拍摄视频。视频中常常
是一些鸡毛蒜皮的小事，当事人却能将屋子吵得底朝天。你也许会嘲笑他们，但我
们小学时候不也画过“三八线”吗？同桌超线一点点，两人不也要争执半天吗？“友

谊的小船”不是也“说翻就翻”吗？

君子尊重贤能的人，又能容纳众人。班级里的学习小组正是这一思想精华的体
现，遇到困难时，大家向“学霸”请教，“学霸”们不是嗤之以鼻，不予理睬，而
是耐心地答疑解惑，这就是君子“尊贤而容众”啊！（朱宸阳 单嘉莹）

On one occasion, Zizhang was asked about friendship by the pupils of one of his

fellow disciples — Zixia. He answered by asking the pupils, “What did your teacher say
on the subject?” “Our teacher,” replied the pupils, “said, ‘Those whom you find good,

make friends with; those whom you find not good, turn your back upon.’”
“That,” replied Zizhang, “is different from what I have been taught. A wise and good

man honors worthy men and is tolerant to all men. He knows how to commend those who
are good at anything and tolerate those who are ignorant. Now, if we ourselves are really

worthy, we should be tolerant to all men; but if we ourselves are not worthy, men will turn
their backs upon us. How can we turn our packs upon them?”
