同龄人语

一只狼徘徊在山脚，夕阳把他的影子放大到一亩田那样。当他得意洋洋地向百

兽之王狮子宣战后，话音刚落就被狮子给咬死了。可见，如果我们太高估自己，就
容易受到惩罚，所以孔子告诫我们少年正是读书时，要做与自己能力匹配的事情。
人到中年，如同古刹里悬挂着的苍劲的老钟，经受着一次次的撞击。我的父亲

在“不惑”的年纪待人处事稳如大山，“戒之在斗”说的就是他！步入老年，我们

就像罗素所说的，湍急的河流冲过山峦，终于到了大海的时候，表现出来的就是一
种平缓和辽阔。我的外公就是最好的典范，他日出而作，日落而息，生活节俭，却
很惬意。

这才是孔子所说的真正的处世之道。（童杭）

英译

Confucius remarked, “There are three things which a man should beware of in the
three stages of his life. In youth, when the constitution of his body is not yet formed, he

should beware of lust. In manhood, when his physical powers are in full vigor, he should
beware of conflict. In old age, when the physical powers are in decay, he should beware

of greed.”
